Procedure

Each translation of the DIVA should follow the procedure below:

Translation from Dutch to your own language (your task)
This may be done by a translation bureau or bilingual person you know. All co-operators will be mentioned in the Colophon. After Dutch DIVA-5 is translated into your language, you or any other professional in the field should check if the translation covers the everyday spoken language in psychiatry, so that patients and physicians will easily recognize the symptoms and impairment of ADHD. This will improve the quality of the translation.

Backtranslation from your language back to Dutch (your task)
This may also be done by a translation bureau.

Steps of revision
- Comparing the Dutch backtranslation with the original Dutch DIVA-5 by our team, who will send back a list of comments and/or questions
- First revision round by your team, and send back after revision
- Second revision round by our team, who will check your revisions and send back a list of comments and/or questions (mainly on details)
- Third revision round by your team, and send back after revision.

After the translation
The translated DIVA-5 will be send to our graphic designer for making a PDF.

After delivery of PDF
Final checks of the PDF by both parties and last graphic adjustments by our team.

Final online version
Final PDF-version and fill-out version will be send to you and your team. Also the final DIVA-5 in your language will be published online on this website by our team.
